Tracks and Traces 2019 is the title of my new creation.
To commemorate 50 years of my career in the arts, I have created a collection of twelve pieces that I baptize with the name ‘Tracks’. Each brass and aluminum wall bracket is inspired by engravings accumulated from a lifelong fascination with the forms observed in nature. These intricate pieces celebrate the marks made by life forms on earth, which cannot be destroyed by the forces of nature, nor by human hands.
Tracks’ is one of the two collections exhibited in the Gallery ’89. The second, ‘Traces’, is the third collaboration between David Marshall and glass artist Jennifer Baker, deepening the degradation of our physical environment. Eight independent metal and glass sculptures represent carvings made in our landscapes by ice, water and human interference.
